New Colorado Springs Hotel to Open in Late 2024

COLORADO SPRINGS – Planners have a new North Star for awe-inspiring meetings as Hotel Polaris at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs prepares to open in late 2024. Managed by CoralTree Hospitality, the new 375-room hotel combines luxurious accommodations, state-of-the-art meeting facilities and stunning mountain views to provide an unparalleled experience. Purpose-built for meetings, Hotel Polaris has a level dedicated to groups featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outdoors inside to inspire new ideas, productive conversations and thought leadership. The hotel also has designed a series of unique team building experiences that push boundaries and explore new frontiers.

“We’ve given careful consideration into designing our group and meetings experience,” said Curtis Bova, general manager of Hotel Polaris. “First, we wanted to capture the beauty of our location so we added floor-to-ceiling windows so meeting attendees could find inspiration from the views of the Academy and Pikes Peak. Next, we made sure to have a dedicated floor that’s equipped with tools and resources to optimize collaboration. Then we developed a series of creative group activities to inspire new ideas and create bonds through team building programs that enable deeper connections in unique social settings.”

Hotel Polaris is located outside the North Gate of the Academy in the shadow of the 14,115-foot Pikes Peak, known as America’s Mountain. The hotel will offer 26,000 square feet of expansive indoor meeting space on one dedicated floor with floor-to-ceiling windows offering an abundance of natural light. Meeting space includes a 12,000 square foot ballroom to accommodate more than 1,000 people, a 6,000 square foot junior ballroom, seven meeting rooms and two dedicated board rooms. The floor also offers more than 11,000 square feet of pre-function space.

In addition to on-site catering, Hotel Polaris will offer an array restaurants and bars including a full-service three-meal restaurant, the 9th floor rooftop bar, an engaging lobby bar and a fast casual, grab and go café and a soda shop. Other amenities will include an outdoor pool and sun deck with stunning mountain views as well as a full-service spa and fitness center.

Unique Team Building Programs

In the spirit of its landmark location, Hotel Polaris will offer group and meeting attendees a wide range of special programs that inspire thought leadership and create connections through team building. From experiencing an “as real as it gets” feeling of taking off into the blue skies in the only in-hotel flights simulators in the United States to inspiration from the constellations of the night sky, the team at Hotel Polaris is prepared to create and customize special programs for all on-site groups.

Buckle up and take flight in one of the hotel’s flight simulators. These simulators will provide guests with a high quality, immersive, fully tactile, real-life pilot experience. The simulators will reproduce the flight deck experience with seats, throttles, switches, pedals and yoke from original parts of real aircrafts (other parts of the flight deck are scale reproductions). The experience will include a 220-degree wraparound screen with HD imagery to make the experience as life-like as possible. Groups will have an opportunity to set up team building competitions that will test participants skills on a set of simulator challenges.

Groups also will be able to get up close in personal with “nature’s fighter pilots” - the falcon. Fittingly the mascot of the Academy, the hotel’s special falconry program will offer flight demonstrations and an opportunity for these majestic birds to land on guests’ hands. In addition to falcons, group and meeting attendees will have a chance to interact with other birds of prey such as hawks and eagles.

Another special group program takes a cue from the dark skies around Colorado Springs. The sky lights up every night with brilliant stars that have helped explorers navigate the earth for centuries. Explore the dark skies outside of Colorado Springs with the hotel’s Celestial Navigation program to learn more about constellations and basic navigation techniques such as finding your latitude.

As a partner of the Academy, Hotel Polaris also is collaborating on a series inspired by the Academy’s Center for Character and Leadership Development. The focus of the Academy’s Center is integrity, service and excellence. Hotel Polaris’ program will integrate lessons learned from the Center to provide business leaders with a special curriculum.

Hotel Polaris is conveniently located 30 minutes from the Colorado Springs Airport and an hour from the Denver-metropolitan area.

Hotel Polaris currently is booking groups and meetings beginning January 2025. For more information on the new Hotel Polaris, please visit www.theHotelPolaris.com.
