  • About Harlen Wheatley

    Harlen Wheatley, born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, is the Master Distiller at Buffalo Trace, a role he’s held since 2005. With degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering, he joined the distillery in 1995 and quickly rose through the ranks, gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of production. Under his leadership, Buffalo Trace has advanced in quality, efficiency, and innovation. Harlen is a four-time James Beard Award nominee and has received multiple industry and academic honors, recognizing his impact on the bourbon world and dedication to the craft.
